Some weddings are unforgettable not just because of the stunning locations or the intricate details, but because of the people. Sarah and Nic’s wedding was one of those special events. This lovely couple, originally from South Africa but now living in Australia, made the long journey back to their homeland to celebrate their love with a three-day extravaganza in the breathtaking Cape Winelands.

The wedding day itself, held at the picturesque Johannesdal, was one for the books. As a photographer, I’m always prepared for anything, but Mother Nature threw us a curveball with stormy skies and gale-force winds. The outdoor ceremony we had all been looking forward to had to be relocated at the last minute. But thanks to the incredible work of their wedding planner, Jess from Mon Amour, and florist Heike from Fleur Le Cordeur, the transition was seamless. They handled the situation like a true professionals, ensuring that every guest was comfortable and that the day’s events flowed smoothly despite the weather.

What stood out the most to me wasn’t the stunning scenery or the beautifully decorated venue; it was Sarah and Nic themselves. They are, without a doubt, two of the warmest and kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Their love for each other was evident in every moment they shared throughout the day. Capturing that kind of connection is what I live for as a wedding photographer.

Sarah was an absolute vision, one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever photographed, inside and out. It was a joy to be part of such an intimate and heartfelt celebration. Despite the weather challenges, this wedding was a true testament to the power of love, resilience, and the magic that happens when two people come together to celebrate their commitment to each other.
