Mignon and Donald's recent celebration at Sir Richard Branson's Mont Rochelle wine estate in Franschhoek was nothing short of magical. Set against the backdrop of rolling vineyards and majestic mountains, the venue provided the perfect canvas for a wonderful day. In true February Winelands fashion, the weather was hot! But despite the heat, the couple's radiant smiles and the love that emanated from their families and friends made every click of the camera worthwhile.
One of the aspects that I loved the most about working with this couple was their emphasis on capturing real moments over traditional formalities. Mignon and Donald valued authenticity, encouraging me to focus on the candid, unscripted moments that truly encapsulated the essence of their love story. This allowed for a more relaxed and natural atmosphere, resulting in photographs that tell a story beyond the staged poses.
From the very beginning, Mignon and Donald's genuine kindness set the tone for the day. They prioritised the comfort and well-being of not only their friends and family, but also all their suppliers, ensuring that everyone involved felt like an integral part of their celebration. This thoughtful gesture created an atmosphere of camaraderie, making it a pleasure to document the special day.
