I recently hosted my second wedding photography workshop and I can honestly say that there is nothing that leaves me feeling more satisfied than a successful workshop. Being able to teach and inspire others is such a big passion of mine so to combine that with my passion for wedding photography is a dream come true.

11 ladies from all over the country attended my workshop – some fresh out of high school and some near retirement. They all came with one shared passion – wedding photography. We laughed, we shared, we learned and most importantly we inspired. And I couldn’t imagine a better setting than Ex Nihilo in Simondium.

Part of the two day workshop included a styled shoot. You can view the full shoot here.

This was a great way of taking the attendees through my process of shooting and natural posing as well as letting them practice their skills and go home with new portfolio images. I was completely blown away by the level of talent and creativity from everyone involved. Wilien from Wilhelmina Bracken couture specially made the most exquisite dress that was modeled by my beautiful friend Rachél. Corlé Barnard had truly outdone herself with a moody make-up palette that perfectly complimented the flowers and table setting. Carissa together with the ladies from Grand Room Design created beautiful decor and flower combinations of colours and textures.  Melané from Fleur Design Studio designed timeless stationary and to top it all of the ladies from Lion Heart made the most incredible ombre pink cake.

I huge thank you to my dear friend, Carissa from the Visual concept and Ex Nihilo. Without her this workshop just wouldn’t have been the roaring success that it was. Carissa, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. Your attention to detail, the effort and love you invested in this workshop has succeeded my wildest dreams – from putting up vinyl stickers at 2am to making sure that everything runs perfectly, to your all around positive vibe.

Melané, thank you for the beautiful stationary you designed for the workshop. From the name tags to the thank you cards, your designs really tied everything together so beautifully.

And last but not least, a big shout out to Margriet for all your help with the set-up and for taking some beautiful behind the scenes images.

Some feedback:

“Dear Jenni,

No words can describe the feeling of knowing that when I invested in your workshop, I invest in my clients and that they would directly benefit thereof. The two day workshop was an extremely informative session; all possible topics were covered and honestly answered when questions were raised. I love the fact that you spoke about your experiences in the industry and your view of something. It always helps to see something from another point of view. I’m recharged to pack on the wedding season and to apply what I’ve learned from your workshop and I can’t wait to show you the results! The workshop was absolutely worth the money and the experience was amazing! From the amazing coffee, snacks and amaaaazing lunches, the venue was stunning and the styled shoot left me in absolute awe. I’d recommend this workshop to any photographer taking on the wedding industry, from novice to more experienced and even some professionals I can add. Thank you, Jenni, I really hope our paths cross again and if I could, I’d book another workshop with you!”
